Life Before TJ

Hello everyone! I’ve been a member of the TJ teaching staff since February of 2020 and am so proud to be a member of this phenomenal team. I couldn’t be more excited to be back for another school year. I’ve been living here in Denver for the last 5 years. I’ve spent most of my time in Denver as a Social Studies teacher for Denver Public Schools. I grew up in a small town in eastern Nebraska, called Blair. I’m a huge Nebraska Huskers fan and alumni of the University of Nebraska where I majored in Education.

Here at TJ I teach the Ancient/Medieval History course. I’ve also taught World History & World Geography during my time here. As well as my teaching duties, I am a proud member of the TJ Football coaching staff where I am responsible for coaching/mentoring our Varsity Defensive Line.

I’m very passionate about good music, sports, cooking, traveling, nerd stuff like Lord of the Rings and Game of Thrones, as well as being a massive History buff.  Outside of school, I love to go to new restaurants, hiking and camping, going to concerts, and hanging out with my close friends. I’m extremely proud to be a member of our fantastic Social Studies team at TJ, and am looking forward to another great year.
